In this webinar, Dr. Dustin covers some key principles in prescribing:

  • Review of patient’s history, age, and technician notes
  • Look at the entering VAs to check against habitual wear
  • Use the lensometry reading as your base prescription and only update it slightly to correspond with the patient’s corrected VA if 20/20
  • Request an old Rx first if the lensometry is missing
  • Scanning the alignment on spot fields is critical to weigh against autorefraction results
  • Include notes regarding comprehensive care or referral care in the final Rx
